Coffee Call Breast Cancer ? - Researchers from Sweden found the relationship between coffee intake 5 cups or more in a day with the decrease in non-hormone-responsive known as ER-negative. However, it seems the coffee can't lower the risk of the development of ER-positive
breast cancer, which is a form of hormone-responsive estrogen receptor of this disease.
Researchers said that with the regular consumption of coffee per day may be able to protect women from ER-negative, i.e. a type of breast cancer that is aggressive. However, the amount of 5 cups a day may be a number of quite a lot to some people, and may need to be adjusted to the ability of each person to consume coffee.
Researchers add that they need to dig deeper information about the benefits of this coffee again, including what type of coffee can provide the maximum benefit, nor what substances contained in coffee that provide health benefits. So hopefully in the future, this can be active substances extracted from coffee and exploited as breast cancer treatment.
The study was published online in the Breast Cancer Report Edition, May 11, 2011, and to involve women in Sweden aged 5.929 50-74 years. Note that of the women, those who drink five cups of coffee every day have breast cancer risk of ER-negative 33-38% smaller than those who drink coffee for less than 1 cup of coffee a day.
